He has recently been instructed in cases involving discrimination, national security, the right to protest and universal jurisdiction. His domestic tribunal practice covers all aspects of employment and discrimination.

Overview
Paul has recently been instructed in cases involving discrimination, national security, the right to protest and universal jurisdiction. Paul has a particular interest in the Middle East and the region of the former Yugoslavia. He has appeared in a number of leading cases before the European Court of Human Rights as well as other international courts and tribunals such as the UN Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia and the Human Rights Advisory Panel for Kosovo.
Paul is included on the list of counsel for the International Criminal Court and the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. Paul also appears in domestic courts and tribunals where cases raise questions of international law, such as international arrest warrants and the right to protest.

He has represented a number of civil servants accused of involvement in espionage, terrorism, and posing a threat to national security before the Civil Service Appeal Board, the Security Vetting Appeals Panel, and before security cleared Employment Tribunal panels.
He has extensive experience of professional disciplinary proceedings, including the longest case before the Health Professionals Council, successfully defending a client against 40 allegations.
