Public International Law
Rehab is a consultant for the International NGO Accountability Unit and is available for instruction in all areas of public international law, having worked on both defence and prosecution teams in international criminal tribunals, as well as assisting in drafting submissions to UN working groups concerning violations of international humanitarian law.
Alongside her previous roles, and during her practice at the Bar working with vulnerable clients, she has been involved in drafting and collating evidence for in-depth reports on state accountability; including projects on the Uyghurs in China, as well as the Yazidis across Turkey, Syria, and Iraq. Following the drafting of reports and overseeing juniors, she has assisted with preparations for advocacy at peoples tribunals, and parliamentary debate of the reports.
On behalf of Accountability Unit, Rehab has attended the 2022 Training Workshop in Pattani, Thailand run by Cross Cultural Foundation and Access Accountability on interview methodology, which included ensuring interviews and information can be used for justice mechanisms, appropriately identifying perpetrators, and how to successfully submit to UN working groups. This two-week training workshop also involved meeting with local NGOs, authorities, and the diplomatic community to assist with the work of human rights documenters working on discriminatory abuses happening in Thailand’s deep south.
