Kenneth Macdonald QC and Anthony Jennings both left Two Garden Court to join Matrix Chambers. Anthony Jennings has since taken silk, and Kenneth Macdonald was recently appointed Director of Public Prosecutions.
The purpose of this seminar is to bring practitioners up to date with recent developments in the abuse of process jurisdiction. In particular, the speakers will illustrate the increasing willingness of the courts to consider and act upon any improprieties in the investigation – with special emphasis on entrapment and the use of agents provocateurs. The seminar is intended to be of practical assistance to solicitors who increasingly need to be able to identify these issues as an important aspect of criminal trial preparation.
