Garden Court Chambers, the Human Trafficking Foundation, The Anti-Trafficking Monitoring Group and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer have come together in partnership to mark Anti-Slavery Day on 18 October 2016. This full-day conference will examine the UK’s response to modern slavery.
We have brought together leading policy-makers, lawyers, campaigners and academics to assess the effectiveness of current legal remedies, and examine how sustainable support for victims of trafficking can best be achieved.
Together with our delegates, we will take stock of how the UK has implemented its trafficking obligations through legislation and policy across England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We will identify the gaps in policy and practice that require the attention of state agencies tasked with prevention, victim protection and prosecution.
The conference will be moderated by Dr Kathryn Cronin, Joint Head of Garden Court Chambers.
