The Deaf Legal Network (‘DLN’) is a forum convened by Garden Court Chambers to bring together representatives from Deaf-led organisations with lawyers (barristers and solicitors). DLN has three aims:
- To share knowledge and best practice
- To develop referral pathways for legal advice and representation for Deaf communities
- To identify strategies to use the law to address systemic unfairness experienced by Deaf communities
Our Matthew Banks, a pupil at Garden Court Chambers, explains what the event is about in British Sign Language (BSL) in the video below.
To advance these aims, DLN will be hosting its first hybrid meeting on Friday 28th June, 3pm-5pm, to facilitate discussion and collaboration.
If you are a lawyer or a representative of a Deaf-led organisation and would like to join DLN, please sign up here. An email protocol for the DLN email group can be found here. Please read our privacy policy to understand how we use and protect the information sent to us.
Register to attend DLN's first meeting by filling in the booking form below. Please specify if you would like to join online or in-person.
