Our Court of Protection (COP) practitioners have unique cross-practice expertise in community care, housing and homelessness, welfare benefits, immigration and asylum, mental health and family law with specialisms in education and child protection.
This COP conference demonstrated how to make effective use of the Court of Protection and related jurisdictions of the High Court in complex cases, and is aimed at solicitors, paralegals, local authority lawyers, lawyers of public bodies, litigation friends, and court staff & users.
Attendees gained an understanding of how issues of capacity and protected parties ability to make relevant decisions can arise, and how to make effective use of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Court of Protection to resolve complex disputes within different jurisdictions.
