The Minimum Income Requirement for partners has always posed problems for people of limited means. But far more will be affected by the upcoming dramatic raise requiring income of £29,000, due to take effect in Spring 2024. Prudent advisors and clients need to start their planning now.

We discussed:

  • The courts’ reaction to target incomes so far
  • How to meet the income requirement and the relaxations under the Rules
  • Proportionality arguments when the minimum income just can’t be met

Speakers from the Garden Court Immigration Team discussed legal and practical solutions for clients now facing indefinite separation from a loved one.

Our Immigration Team won 'Immigration Set of the Year' at the Legal 500 Bar Awards 2023. We have been awarded the highest ‘Band 1’ status for immigration law by Chambers & Partners and we are ranked in 'Tier 1' in the Legal 500 UK Bar rankings. We are the only 'Tier 1' ranked chambers in immigration law.
