This webinar provided up-to-date guidance on legal developments for Victims of Trafficking. The webinar was chaired by Steven Galliver-Andrew.
Nicola Braganza KC discussed challenging delays by the NRM in determining victim of trafficking status.
Ronan Toal discussed challenging Public Order Disqualification decisions, made pursuant to the provisions in the Nationality and Borders Act 2022, which deny victims of trafficking protections to which they are entitled.

Steven Galliver-Andrew, Garden Court Chambers (Chair)
Steven specialises in asylum and immigration law, human rights, and related public law and civil actions. He regularly represents Appellants in asylum appeals, appeals against deportation, human rights appeals, and matters involving cross-border human trafficking and modern slavery. Steven has rapidly developed a specialism for identifying and strategising unlawful detention claims, often arising out of immigration bail or applications for urgent interim relief. He has represented clients in the High Court and often assists with securing damages by consent without the need for protracted litigation.
Nicola Braganza KC, Garden Court Chambers
Nicola is recognised as a leading barrister specialising in Equality and Discrimination Law, Public Law and Human Rights. Her broad practice spans the areas of Employment, Education, Community Care, Immigration and Asylum Law. She has considerable experience in bringing complex and large-scale challenges against the state, including civil claims for damages on behalf of individuals and groups. Ronan has practiced in immigration and asylum law since 1989.
