This seminar will enrich delegates' knowledge of the housing entitlements of vulnerable groups including lone children, adult care leavers and disabled young people. The speakers will also explore the interrelationship between continuing healthcare and residential social care. Delegates will leave with a refreshed knowledge of this area of community care law along with comprehensive notes for future their guidance.

This seminar will cover:

  • Entitlements to housing of lone children and kinship care
  • Transitions to adulthood for care leavers

About the speakers

Stephen Knafler QC, Joint Head of Chambers at Garden Court, is a member of the Community Care and Housing Teams and is General Editor of the Community Care Law Reports.

Shu Shin Luh is a community care practitioner with expertise on the rights of children, vulnerable adults and others in need of services and support. She is a member of the Community Care Team.

Felicity Williams is experienced in community care work concerning children and vulnerable adults and often represents those in need of assessment, support and accommodation. Felicity is a member of the Community Care Team.
