Join us at Garden Court Chambers for an inspiring conference discussing the legal framework surrounding migrant support at LAG's upcoming conference on 9 May 2024, sponsored by Garden Court Chambers and Doughty Street Chambers. The expert speakers will provide updates on Home Office support policies and examine the support provided by local authorities, especially to those who have no recourse to public funds.
Furthermore, case studies relevant to vulnerable clients will be explored, shedding light on effective legal strategies and advocacy approaches. The conference will also explore the intersection of migrant support law and discrimination law, uncovering avenues for leveraging legal frameworks to uphold the rights of migrants.
The Migrant Law Conference aims to provide a platform to deepen delegates’ understanding and to exchange ideas as well as to forge collaborations in the realm of migrant law. We look forward to seeing you!
The Migrant Support Handbook, written by Connor Johnston of Garden Court and Shu Shin Luh of Doughty Street, will be available to purchase for a discounted rate for delegates. In fact you can even purchase a copy of LAG's Migrant Support Handbook together with your conference ticket.
The Migrant Support Handbook is the must-have book for anyone representing, advising and working with migrants. It is co-authored by the brilliant Connor Johnston and Shu Shin Luh, along with a team of experts in the field, it's the only book where you'll find practical guidance on a wide range of areas from housing and welfare benefits to social services and NHS provision.
