Modern Slavery Act and 10 years of the Council of Europe Trafficking Convention
After a very busy year that saw a new landmark piece of legislation voted in the UK Parliament and in the Northern Ireland Assembly, we are delighted to host the next Forum discussion. The Forum will take stock of the debates and challenges of progressing the modern slavery law through the UK Parliament. Furthermore, as the 10th anniversary of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings approaches, we will also reflect on how the anti-trafficking landscape changed in the UK in the past decade.
Speakers will include:
- Paramjit Ahluwalia, Barrister, Garden Court Chambers
- Chloe Setter, Head of Advocacy, Policy & Campaigns (Child Trafficking), ECPAT UK
- Klara Skrivankova, Europe Programme & Advocacy Co-ordinator, Anti-Slavery International
- Sally Montier, Victim Protection Services Manager, The Poppy Project
