Garden Court Chambers is a number one ranked barristers’ chambers committed to human rights, social justice and equality. These principles are reflected throughout our work and embodied in our motto, “Do right, fear no one”.

Garden Court has a proud history of winning ground-breaking cases of constitutional importance. Our legal challenges have overturned great injustices in many landmark decisions. Equally, our barristers fight hard for cases that don’t hit the headlines but are nonetheless vital for defending the rights of those we represent.

Our Housing Team, ranked number one in Legal 500 and Chambers UK, is looking for a junior practitioner of up to 7 years call to join our dedicated housing barristers. The successful candidate will have a knowledge of housing law and be committed to working for clients in receipt of legal aid.

Positioned at the forefront of social housing legal advice, our 29-strong Housing Team includes one KC and several barristers ranked in band one in Chambers UK Bar Guide. We appear at all levels of Court, including the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. Our work includes landlord and tenant disputes, judicial review of public authorities and homelessness appeals.

As well as practising across all areas of housing law, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work in public law accommodation-related areas such as community care and asylum support.

We welcome applications from individuals who share our strong ethos and standards of excellence.

Should you want to discuss the process and anything to do with the application, do not hesitate to get in touch with our Housing Team Convenors, Angharad Monk or Kevin Gannon. You can do this by emailing info@gclaw.co.uk.

To apply, please complete and return both the application form and equal opportunities monitoring form to Mia Hakl-Law, Director of Operations & Human Resources, at miah@gclaw.co.uk.

We consider applications on an equal opportunity basis and we are committed to equality and diversity. Applications from ethnic minority and women candidates are particularly welcome.
