In their work on 'Principles for Statelessness Research', Asylos has conducted consultations with legal representatives. This includes Stephanie Harrison KC and David Neale of Garden Court Chambers, who have contributed to Asylos' work on statelessness and Country of Origin Information (COI), including their roundtable held on 6 March 2023.
From this research, Asylos shares six research principles in their newest publication to encourage COI researchers, legal representatives and decision-makers alike to take a more holistic and informed approach to international protection claims involving stateless persons. They found the absence of relevant COI about stateless persons and simultaneously, the low awareness of statelessness issues in the immigration and asylum legal sector. Their project aims to address information gaps about stateless persons who are seeking international protection and stateless status.

Asylos has also published their report: 'Lebanon: Stateless Palestinians'. It highlights the various legal statuses that exist among Palestinians in Lebanon and the terms used to describe those statuses, as well as the (lack of) definition of statelessness in Lebanese law, the various Arabic terms that may be used to describe stateless groups in Lebanon, and who they refer to. It is part of their series of strategic research reports that address critical gaps in COI Information.
