Adrian Berry of Garden Court Chambers speaks to Australia’s ABC News about Federal Government plans to strip dual-nationals involved in terrorism of their Australian citizenship.
Adrian Berry has represented those at risk of having their British citizenship revoked. Speaking about the impact of such legislation, Adrian warned "the law is extremely dangerous because it leaves the possibility that someone could become stateless." When asked about the right of a state to revoke the citizenship of individuals engaging in terrorist activities, Adrian stressed the importance of making individuals "subject to the ordinary processes of the law rather than making them outlaws."
