At a time when government spending cuts and caps on housing benefit are starting to bite, Liz Davies paints a bleak picture of how this is going to affect the homeless.
Writing in the Morning Star, Liz reviews the history of how public authorities in the UK have always sought to make rough sleepers invisible. She points out that it is less than 35 years since local authorities were first required to assist homeless people, and that with the number of homeless people on the rise, limiting housing benefit and access to housing advice is going to lead to an increase in rough sleeping.
