Three of Garden Court's specialist Housing briefs are mentioned in today's "Times" as key to the recent House of Lords success in progressing the housing rights of women who are victims of domestic violence.
A trio of members from Garden Court's 20-strong team of Housing barristers, Jan Luba QC, Stephen Knafler and Liz Davies were thanked by Helen Jackson, a solicitor at Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity. The decision is an important victory for victims of domestic violence who now have a right to assistance in being re-housed.
Jan Luba QC represented the Petitioner, Mrs Moran, and Stephen Knafler and Liz Davies represented the interveners, Women's Aid Federation of England.
