Michael Goold of the Garden Court Chambers Crime Team represented the defendant, instructed by Pan Symeou of Faradays Solicitors.
Michael Goold represented the defendant charged with an armed robbery of a cash and carry warehouse in south London alongside seven other defendants. The offence was part of a series of commercial burglaries and robberies by an alleged Romanian organised crime group.
The prosecution’s case against the defendant centred on his alleged attendance at a “planning meeting” with the other defendants several hours before the offence. Michael’s cross-examination of the prosecution’s cell-site expert resulted in that central plank in the prosecution’s case collapsing. The defendant was unanimously acquitted after a seven-week trial at Croydon Crown Court.
