David Renton of the Garden Court Chambers Employment Team appeared in the case of Amy Arnold v UK Power Networks (Operations) Ltd.
The case concerned a female procurement worker who had been refused promotion to a more senior role, the employer choosing to prefer a less qualified and less experienced male colleague.
The Employment Tribunal sitting at Norwich found that the employer had victimised Ms Arnold for having previously made a complaint of unequal pay. The Tribunal ordered compensation for her and recommended that members of her team be trained in the Equality Act.
David was instructed by Jane Copley of the Prospect trade union.
David Renton is an employment and housing practitioner and is a member of the Employment Team at Garden Court Chambers.
