We are delighted to welcome back founding member Sarah Forster to Garden Court Chambers’ expanding Family Team.
Sarah Forster is an extremely experienced practitioner and trained family mediator who has specialised in family law for over 20 years. Prior to returning to Garden Court Chambers, Sarah was Head of Chambers at Fourteen for eleven years.
Ranked in Band 2 in the Chambers UK Bar Guide 2016, it is said that Sarah “is highly experienced at dealing with children and financial issues” and “a very wise counsel who fights hard for her clients.”
Sarah practises in all areas of family law, specialising in cases where there are issues of mental health and capacity, separate representation of children, and vulnerable or challenging clients. Widely respected as a tenacious and powerful advocate, Sarah has experience at all levels, including the Supreme Court. She is approved to take on Public Access work.
Sarah also has some experience of ancillary relief both in practice and when sitting as a Deputy District Judge. She was appointed to the Principal Registry of the Family Division in 1995 and continues to sit there and, since 2015, in other family courts dealing with private and public law cases including family finance.
