Garden Court Chambers is pleased to announce that its membership of the EU's Fundamental Rights Platform (FRP) has been renewed for a second term of three years. Garden Court remains the only law practice in the UK with FRP membership.
The Platform exists as a network of civil society organisations through which participant organisations play an active part in shaping the work of the EU's Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA). With over 300 civil society organisations working on numerous fundamental rights issues across the EU, the FRP is the FRA's channel for cooperation and information exchange. Bringing together a diverse group of actors on the European, national, and local levels, the FRP is a unique forum that allows a truly European debate on fundamental rights and assists the FRA in tailoring its work so that it can meet the real needs of European citizens.
Marc Willers, who led Garden Court's application to join the FRP in 2010 said "Garden Court Chambers continues to play an important role in Europe as a member of the FRP. Our membership has also brought us closer to many other organisations, both in the UK and across Europe, who share our passion for protecting and advancing fundamental rights."
