In protest at the government's swingeing cuts to legal aid the criminal practitioners in chambers will support the day of action on 7 March called by the Criminal Bar Association by not attending court on that day.
From 7 March members of the Crime Team will also refuse to appear in cases in which they are not the instructed advocate. This means that our members will not cover hearings where the instructed advocate is unavailable. Every effort will be made to inform our instructing solicitors well in advance of hearings, which cannot be covered as a result of the instructed advocate being unavailable.
For more information speak to our senior clerk Colin Cook or a member of the criminal clerking team.
