We are delighted to announce that Lyndsey Sambrooks-Wright and Monifa Walters-Thompson have joined the Family Law Team at Garden Court Chambers.
Called to the Bar in 2008, Lyndsey is a specialist in public and private family law matters, including cases with an international element. She is often instructed in cases involving non-accidental injury, in particular ‘shaken baby syndrome’, and also acts in cases involving international child abduction and relocation. She frequently represents vulnerable clients in the family and criminal courts, as well as the Court of Protection. She maintains a criminal defence practice and often deals with issues straddling criminal law and family proceedings. Lyndsey is also an experienced mediator.
Called to the Bar in 2014, Monifa specialises in family law and has a busy practice representing clients in public and private law matters. As a practitioner she is well known for being thorough in her preparation, producing documents that assist the bench and demonstrate all areas of the case have been considered. She has a particular interest in private law cases that involve children with special needs and care proceedings. Outside of children matters, she has experience with contested divorce matters, specifically pertaining to the validity of foreign divorces.
