We are delighted to announce that Garden Court Chambers has won Immigration Set of the Year at The Legal 500 Bar Awards, held on Tuesday 3 October 2023.
The awards are determined by the Legal 500’s independent research for the authoritative annual Legal 500 directory.
Our Immigration Team is recognised as the pre-eminent set of UK barristers specialising in immigration law, with ‘Band 1’ status in the Chambers Bar Guide and a 'Tier 1' ranking in the Legal 500 UK Bar guide. Our barristers have appeared in many of the cases that have shaped UK immigration law, and we continue to write the leading textbooks on immigration and asylum. We work with NGOs and charities on test cases, policy work, campaigns and events.
Our Sonali Naik KC accepted the award on behalf of our Immigration Team.
We were shortlisted in three other categories as a set and six of our members were shortlisted at the awards.
We were shortlisted for Court of Protection and Community Care Set of the Year, Crime and Extradition Set of the Year and Public Law Set of the Year.
James Scobie KC was shortlisted for Crime and Extradition Silk of the Year and Bethan Harris was shortlisted for Court of Protection and Community Care Junior of the Year.
Sonali Naik KC and Bojana Asanovic were shortlisted for Immigration Silk of the Year and Immigration Junior of the Year respectively.
