Following widespread discontent that the deal negotiated with the Ministry of Justice was agreed without consultation, the Criminal Bar Association has balloted its members with the following question:
"Do you wish to continue No Returns and days of action until all the cuts and reductions in (solicitors') contracts are abandoned."
At a meeting of the crime team on Monday it was decided that, although, given the position we are now in, this is not how the question should be framed, we should nonetheless urge CBA members to vote in favour of the ballot question as an expression of our continuing commitment to united action with solicitors fighting against the cuts.
