Garden Court Chambers’ Crime Team has once again been shortlisted for the Legal 500 Crime Set of the Year Award. The team won this very award last year. We are also delighted to announce that Kieran Vaughan QC has been shortlisted in the Crime Silk of the Year category.
Members of our Crime Team regularly defend individuals charged with the most serious offences and the team is known for its fighting spirit, fearless commitment and determination to be a voice for the disadvantaged. Our Crime Team has been involved in a number of biggest criminal cases of the past 12 months. These include the landmark Supreme Court joint enterprise case which was largely considered to be the most important criminal case of recent decades. The court found that the law on joint enterprise had been wrongly interpreted for 30 years.
Kieran Vaughan QC is a leading criminal defence practitioner who is regularly sought after in the most serious and complex cases. Over the past 12 months, this has included representing footballer Ched Evans in the Court of Appeal which lead to Evans’ conviction being overturned. Kieran also represented one of the Royal Agricultural University Students who was cleared of rape after the prosecution case collapsed. More information can be found on his profile.
