Gerwyn Wise of the Garden Court Chambers Crime Team represented the defendant SK, instructed by Nathaniel Gadsby of TV Edwards Solicitors.
Gerwyn represented SK, one of nine defendants accused of being involved in a courier fraud at St Albans Crown Court.
SK was accused of assisting an East London gang responsible for running a courier fraud relating to at least 20 elderly and vulnerable victims. The targets of the fraud were contacted by gang members claiming to be police officers and each was encouraged to provide their bank details and cards to fake couriers.
SK was the only defendant found not guilty by the jury after the five-week trial at St Albans Crown Court.
