Garden Court is delighted to announce that Jan Luba QC has won Legal Aid Barrister of the Year at the recent LAPG awards ceremony. He was honoured by the LALY judges for his exceptional commitment and expertise in housing work.
Jan Luba QC commented "I am honoured and delighted to have received this award. It really means so much, precisely because it is based on what my own colleagues and clients think about me. It is "peer review" in the best sense. I am proud and privileged to have served the cause of publicly funded legal services in the housing field for over 25 years. I dedicate my award to those of my fellow specialist housing lawyers who have recently been driven out of this work (and those who shortly will be) by imminent changes to legal aid funding. They are irreplaceable and will be sorely missed - most keenly of all by the homeless and the badly housed who had desperate need of their help".
