Garden Court Chambers is pleased to announce that Kate Aubrey-Johnson is taking a year's sabbatical having been appointed Youth Justice and Strategic Litigation Fellow at Just for Kids Law.
Over the next 12 months, Kate will develop a national Youth Justice Legal Centre which will be a centre of excellence providing specialist legal resources, accreditation, training and advice for those working in youth justice. This will strengthen the close links Garden Court already enjoys with this exciting and innovative children's legal charity.
Kate Aubrey-Johnson is an experienced criminal defence practitioner at Garden Court Chambers. She has a specialism in representing children and young people and is an experienced trainer on young peoples' rights. Kate is also a community, civil and SEN mediator and the author of Making Mediation Work For You (LAG, 2012). Lord Woolf, former Lord Chief Justice, describes her "excellent book" as "breaking new ground". Kate is a trustee and Board member for a number of organisations supporting and empowering children and young people.
