Leslie Thomas has been recognised by the campaigning group Black Mental Health UK as one of the leading lights for 2012. In their inter-disciplinary Top 30 list, he is ranked at number 4.
Describing him as an "unassuming, unsung hero", Leslie is rightly identified for his work over the years at inquests fighting for justice for deceased mental health service users. In 2012 this was highlighted in the inquest into the death of Sean Rigg, whose family are themselves ranked at number 8 in the Top 30.
For those interested in mental health issues, and the additional difficulties faced by some black and minority ethnic service users, the BMH Top 30 is well worth reading.
Leslie Thomas specialises in inquests and claims against the police and public authorities.
