The Emerald Network and Aziz Foundation have published a list of 100 Inspiring Muslims to showcase the inspiring next generation of Muslims. Our Maaha Elahi is featured on the list as a future leader within the British Muslim community. View the full list here.
The Aziz Foundation funded Maaha’s MPhil at the University of Cambridge, where she researched institutional racism and Islamophobia in the criminal justice system and the treatment of child and young foreign national offenders. She continues to write publications in these areas.
Due to her academic work, she is regularly instructed in crime-related civil claims and judicial reviews. She also has a large immigration practice, and is particularly committed to asylum and deportation cases. She has a multi-disciplinary and in-depth understanding of the true nature of these issues.
Maaha regularly supports the Aziz Foundation by mentoring its scholars and speaking at their partner universities about her journey to the Bar.
