We are delighted to announce that Marc Willers QC has been newly appointed as Joint Head of Garden Court Chambers. Marc specialises in planning law, public law, civil liberties, human rights and discrimination. He is widely recognised as a one of the leading experts in representing Gypsies, Travellers and Roma.
Henry Blaxland QC and Dr Kathryn Cronin have been re-appointed as Joint Heads of Garden Court Chambers.
Marc Willers QC was called to the Bar in 1987 and was called to the Irish Bar in 1992. He took silk in 2014. He has won a number of landmark cases to protect the rights of Gypsies, Travellers and Roma and challenge the discrimination they face. In 2015, Marc was appointed to the Equality and Human Rights Commission A-list Panel of Counsel. Marc won the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Award 2011 and was shortlisted for the same award in 2006.
Stephen Knafler QC has stepped down as Joint Head of Chambers after three successful years in the role. Garden Court has experienced significant expansion and growth in recent years and chambers wishes to thank Stephen for his leadership and support during his time in office.
