Two members of Garden Court Chambers have been shortlisted for Liberty's prestigious Human Rights Lawyer of the Year Award 2006 in recognition of their commitment to human rights.
Dexter Dias, a barrister on the crime team at Garden Court, has been nominated for “his deep devotion to ensure that the voices of the weakest in our society are heard". Mark Muller QC, a senior barrister at Garden Court who took Silk in October 2006, is particularly recognised for his commitment to fighting against the excesses of ‘the war on terror’.
The Human Rights Awards are held annually in commemoration of UN International Human Rights Day – this year’s awards will be decided on 12th December. The third nominee in the category of Human Rights Lawyer of the Year is Rabinder Singh QC from Matrix Chambers.
