Peter Wilcock QC and Emma Fenn of Garden Court Chambers have secured the acquittal of a man who was accused of murdering a leading member of a county lines drug gang.
The defence was that the murder had been committed by a member of the gang who subsequently committed suicide.
The prosecution case relied on a combination of CCTV evidence, telephone, cell-site evidence and hearsay evidence. It was unusual in that the prosecution made an application for the judge to call an acquitted former co-defendant who had been present at the scene. This would have been unprecedented and was successfully resisted before the trial.
Peter and Emma were instructed by Greg Powell and Paul Egunjobi of Powell Spencer and Partners.
Peter and Emma are members of the Garden Court Chambers Criminal Defence Team.
