Sam Robinson KC, leading Dan Taylor of Red Lion Chambers, secured the acquittal of the defendant for attempted murder.
The defendant accepted striking the victim several times on the head with a baseball bat following a telephone call to the police in which he repeatedly made threats to kill. The case involved complex issues of intent, which relied upon careful analysis of the evidence of the Crown’s forensic pathologist.
Mr Taylor was also instrumental in the exclusion of the DNA evidence relied upon by the Crown.
