We are delighted to announce that Sean Horstead and Paul Clark have been appointed Assistant Coroners for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, under Senior Coroner David Heming. Sean and Paul are both members of Garden Court’s Inquests Team.
Sean and Paul have extensive experience of representing bereaved families in all types of Article 2 and domestic inquests, before juries all over the country, and in public law challenges before the High Court arising from inquests. Their practices encompass the whole spectrum of coronial proceedings, particularly those involving deaths of persons under the care of the state, whether in police custody, in prison, in connection with police vehicle pursuits, or otherwise.
Sean has twenty years' experience of high profile and controversial inquests including police firearms operations resulting in fatalities and restraint related deaths.
Paul offers particular expertise in inquests involving complex mental health issues, and in cases with a transnational or international dimension.
They are proud to join those of their colleagues at Garden Court Chambers who already perform the challenging role of a Coroner, and in so-doing to further advance the search for truth, justice and fairness.
Alongside their new roles, Sean and Paul will continue to be available for instruction in the areas in which they practice. For enquiries, please contact Phil Bampfylde on 020 7993 7640.
