Garden Court Chambers is delighted to announce that Shereener Browne has won the prestigious Bar Pro Bono Award 2011. The award recognises individual barristers who demonstrate an 'inspirational commitment to pro bono work'.
Commenting on her award, Shereener said "All too often the image portrayed in the media is one of fat-cat barristers getting rich from public funds. Although that may be true of a tiny minority, the overwhelming majority of barristers are hardworking individuals who give generously of their time and expertise to assist people who would otherwise go unrepresented. At Garden Court chambers I am fortunate to be among colleagues who often work tirelessly for little or no pay on behalf of their clients. This award gives the Bar an opportunity to show the outside world the significant contribution barristers make to their communities."
