Steven Galliver-Andrew (2018)
Steven joins chambers as a tenant following successful completion of his pupillage at Garden Court under the supervision of Mark Symes and Anya Lewis. He is rapidly developing a busy practice focused on immigration and public law, and also has a keen interest in extradition and inquests.
Steven has previously worked on increasing the educational attainment of underrepresented groups, on legal aid reform at the Ministry of Justice and conducted his MSc dissertation research on NGO beneficiary accountability in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in association with major aid organisations including Oxfam GB, Concern Worldwide, and JP/HRO. After completing his MSc, Steven assisted the United Nations Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Trials in Cambodia. He later worked as an election observer in Romania and Georgia, and spent a brief-period of time lecturing at Zaporizhzhya National University in conflict afflicted South-east Ukraine. More recently, he volunteered his time to assist with a challenge to capital punishment in Louisiana with Amicus ALJ.
Ella Gunn (2018)
Ella joins chambers as a tenant following successful completion of her pupillage at Garden Court under the supervision of Ronan Toal and Tom Wainwright. She intends to develop an immigration, public law, and family law practice.
Ella studied law in Australia and has experience working as a Judge’s Associate and as a solicitor in that jurisdiction. Volunteering experience with refugees in Australia inspired her to undertake further study in the field. This led to a move to the UK where she completed an MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies at the University of Oxford. Following completion of the MSc, Ella held a number of research roles in both academic and professional settings including at Garden Court Chambers. Ella undertook pupillage at Garden Court Chambers in 2018-2019, supervised by Ronan Toal and Tom Wainwright.
