The trial of six climate change campaigners has collapsed after the prosecution offered no evidence at trial.
The prosecution decided to offer no evidence in the trial of six defendants charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated trespass at Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station, Nottinghamshire in 2009. Two of the six defendants were represented by Anya Lewis and Helen Curtis.
Central to the prosecution's case was to have been evidence collected by a fellow "campaigner" - later exposed as an undercover police officer who had infiltrated the green movement. The operation was highly controversial, and had the officer's true identity not been exposed, a trial could have led to a serious miscarriage of justice.
